  • The NBC Group will be airing 70 regular-season games this season on both their NBC and NBC Sports Networks. It will begin with 7 games in the first week of the season. (NBC Sports)

  • The NHL has amended their rules on buyouts. Due to the situations with Wade Redden and Scott Gomez, the NHL has allowed teams to use one of their two buyouts this week. Today is the last day for teams to use it until this offseason. (Hockey City)
  • After spending the entire lockout in Russia playing for his hometown team Metallurg Magnitogorsk, reigning MVP Evgeni Malkin talks about being in the spotlight in Russia and how he understands how it is for Sidney Crosby in North America.
